Sammy Sparrow Spy
This story was written back in 1982. It was another story written for my daughter as a bedtime story. Like the other books, it took over 25 years to finally get it illustrated. The illustrator, Joshua McGill, is an extraordinary talent. He has the uncanny ability to get into my brain and illustrate the characters only seen in my head. Watch for Joshua's work elsewhere, he will soon be a force in children's picture book illustrations. He has been wonderful to work with and I consider myself very fortunate to be able to have Joshua illustrate my books. Synopsis Sammy Sparrow has a little problem. You see Sammy is very nosey. He likes to glide high above the forest and spy on all the other animals. He is not very popular with the other creatures of the forest. He scares the chickens when the fox is on the prowl for a quick meal, his knows exactly where all the squirrels hide their food, and he knows lots of other things that he shouldn't know. When he overhears plans for his surprise birthday party, this clever little bird thinks he can beat the system, but he has another thing coming.
